Novich, Bentley to Compete in 25 Hour with Hooverspeed - November 28, 2011
Davis, CA
Andrew Novich will be returning to racing following his 2011 Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge campaign alongside his coach Gord Bentley in next weekend's 25 Hours of Thunderhill. “The 25” as it is known amongst club racers is the longest endurance sports car race in the world, even if just slightly longer than such prestigious events such as the 24 hours of Le Mans or the Rolex 24 at Daytona.
The pair will be driving in the competitive E3 class, piloting a Mazda Miata fielded by Hooverspeed. Bentley is anxious to get back into the cockpit after driving an abbreviated weekend at Road America earlier in the year. He comments, “I'm very excited for this year's 25, stepping away from the sideline and getting back behind the wheel and competing in earnest again. I tested our racecar here at Thunderhill a few weeks ago, and am very confident I can give Andrew a run for his money this year!”
Andrew is equally excited at the prospect of next weekend's event and driving with his Speed Secrets coach Gord Bentley. “Hooverspeed is a proven performer in the 25,” says Novich. “Every year their cars finish up front, so really there is no better team to run with in my opinion. As long as we keep focused and stay out of the pit, I think we will be where we need to be in the closing stages of the race.”
Throughout the race you can follow the Hooverspeed cars with live timing as well as following
